ACE Scholarships was founded in 2000 to provide scholarships to children from low-income families in grades K-12, and to advocate for more choice for parents.
With support from private citizens, corporations and foundation ACE levels the playing field for children from low-income families by providing 50% of private school tuition, with a maximum of $2,000 per year for grades K-8 and $3,000 for high school, in the form of a four-year commitment.
One size does not fit all, and for some children their assigned public school is simply not a good fit. In Colorado, the low-income graduation rate is 61%; in Denver it is 54%.
However, once we empower families to choose the best school for their child, we see tremendous academic gains: The ACE Class of 2012 had a 92% graduation rate, and 100% of those graduates went on to college.
Since 2000 ACE has provided more than 10,0000 scholarships worth over $20 million, but has had to turn away more than 5,000 children due to a lack of funds.
